Prepare Yourselves

Getting Ready

Although some things will only come to you after hearing the parts you planned on, you should have all your arrangements ready. This is not the time to be figuring out how many times you want to do this part, when to sing that, where this will go...you need to have this ready or you will be wasting everyone's time and costing yourself more money. If you want to work specifically on arrangements, you can book a block of time to do different versions of your song or songs and figure out which arrangement will work best before you enter the studio for a critical recording.

The first thing we will want to do is meet with you to discuss your vision for your project:

What kind of music is it?
How many musicians and instruments will be involved?
Will you need outside musicians to complete any parts?
How many songs will you want to record?
Are you making a recording to sell or strictly for promotional use?
Will you need a web site?
Will you need graphic art for an album?
Will you need a photographer? If you are making a CD for use in a press kit, you should consider hiring a professional.
